Our mission
In the light ofour vision, culture appears as the expression of the dynamism of human nature operated by the creative Spirit, by making being emerge from non-being.
1. At CRS-NDI we propose to highlight:
-
the creative and purifying action of the Spirit so that this dynamism fully reaches its end in all our African cultures;
-
the work of communion carried out by the creative and sanctifying Spirit, and which makes culture the unfolding of a given historical community where people are in alliance.
2. At CRS-NDI, our approach to inculturation is both personal and ecclesial. Also our mission takes place on the double side of:
-
personal conversion in depth for the salvation of culture;
-
intimate and profound communion with the Church, which is the historical subject to whom Christ entrusted to continue his work in the heart of the nations.
3. Thus, the mission appears to us to be of vital importance for the life of the world, and each of us, as animators of the CRS-NDI, faced with this missionary urgency of inculturation, can only resume, in a new form, the anathema that Saint Paul once hurled at himself: "Woe to me if I did not proclaim the Gospel!" (1Cor 9.16b).
