From QIC Center to CRS-NDI
Thanks to the commitment of the members of the QIC association, two branches of the QIC Center have been set up in Cotonou and Bohicon (birthplace of the Sillon Noir).
With the extension of research activities and the promotion of inculturation, the need for a larger framework has made itself felt. Thus was initiated the project to build the new headquarters of the QIC Center in Saint Jean-Baptiste de Cotonou, on a site ceded in 1998 by the Archbishop of Cotonou, Mgr Isidore de Souza, to the Sillon Noir movement.
At the inauguration of the new headquarters in 2003, the new Archbishop of Cotonou, Mgr Nestor Assogba, taking into account the flowering of the charism of Our Lady of Inculturation and the ongoing experience of a form of consecrated life dedicated to inculturation, requested that the center be renamed "Center for Research and Spirituality of Our Lady of Inculturation".
Thus this new seat becomes both the seat of the Research Center and the seat of the institute of consecrated life in foundation: "Notre-Dame de l'Inculturation".
